finally a really nice mouse
Well it seems logitech has learned out of the MX900 and finally created a really nice wireless mouse.
One of the major bugs of the MX900 is fixed with the MX1000, it has a power switch on the bottom. The annoying problem of the MX900 - it took quite some time to wake up from sleep - is also fixed with the MX1000, probably because it does not use bluetooth. Also the MX1000 does not have a battery slot, it has an internal lithium-ion battery whith a power indicator on the top of the mouse.
For software support, the mouse works fine under Mac OS X but with X11 under Linux there was at first the problem, that not all mouse buttons would work as they should. After one google search I managed to use the evdev driver of x.org to get all buttons working under X11.
summary
Well all I can say is this is a really fine mouse ideal for gaming with its 800 dpi and lots of buttons.
